Many women around the country chose to observe “A Day Without Women” on International Women’s Day, but Sioux Falls women business leaders decided to stay open.
At The Bakery, a spot where entrepreneurs regularly gather, two female business leaders — Kim Hayes and Barbara Riley — led a conversation about their personal journeys to success.
“It’s hard it’s a huge leap,” Hayes said. “But if you’re young and energetic and you have the passion you need to go do it, you need to try.”
They’ve been friends for years — and it the relationship may have started with Riley as a mentor and Hayes as her mentee, according to Lauren Forsch, was a student of Hayes’ when she taught middle school in Sioux Falls.
